Joshua "Josh" Jones is a young man and the title character of the series whose main job is transporting goods on his canal boat Delilah. Fairport is his pet dog. It is assumed that he is aged somewhere in his twenties during the time that the series takes place. His voice is provided by George Layton, who voices all the other male characters.

• Like Fairport, Ravi and Fiona, Joshua appears in all 12 episodes of the series.
• It is possible that Josh is related Fireman Sam, As Both Characters have the Same Last Jones and It alstaplised in Season y Onwards That Sam as a Brother Named Charlie, meaning that Joshua is also either A Younger Sibling or Cousin to Sam and Charlie.
