Spanner Wilkins is a lazy teenager, who is Sharon's boyfriend. He works at the wharf with Josh. His voice was provided by George Layton.

Spanner usually spends his time either not concentrating (in "Horseplay"), trying to avoid hard work ("Haywire") or getting into trouble, usually causing grief for those around him or him saying "bloomin' ummer", Spanner also frequently claims to be an expert on things too (a fisherman, an athlete or an "expert tractor-iser" to name a few) which quickly backfires on him. He does mean well though, getting along with everyone and even have a sense of humor, reveling in fishing Mr. Cashmore from the Canal, much to the amusement of Sharon, who takes a photo in "Photo Finish".
Spanner's last scene in the series is when he broke the raft, and Sharon forgets to help him, and he nearly drowns in "The Silver Key".
